KENNY BOBIEN

Kenny Bobien has been doing his thing in music since he could remember. Like many artist, this multi-talented musician grew up in the church. Kenny was raised in Newark, NJ it was there where he discovered he had something different to offer the world. Through out his schooling Kenny won several awards and received many honors in music. But it was not until he hooked up with Eddie Stockeley that he was recognized as an artist. Eddie introduced Kenny to music producers (the late) Guy Vaughn and Sherick Guy. After hearing what a unique talent Kenny was they signed him on to their production company “The Fly Guys”. This opened an opportunity to join “The Fly Guys” group “Def Con 4”, as a vocalist.

Although the group disbanded in 1990; the collaboration of tenor voices launched Kenny’s career. He gained recognition as a songwriter and vocalist when his work was featured in the movie “Hanging with the Homeboys” in 1992. He then traveled extensively in the United States, Europe and Japan, Kenny has performed with a multitude of dance artist and major label R&B acts, such as Jennifer Holiday and Milira. He has also performed live with many major gospel groups. Going solo in 1994, Kenny recorded R&B classic "You Are My Friend" that became a monumental hit. In the midst of the success of Kenny’s "Friend", he found time to sing background for today’s mega pop stars, Celine Dione, Taylor Dayne, Mariah Carey, CeCe Rogers and Lauryn Hill as well as R&B legend, Teddy Pendergrass. Noted as one of the Pioneers of Gospel House Music; Kenny has had several recognized hits within the dance music scene.
